The inspiration for Scansen173 was informed by the owners background in collecting, education, research and many visits to area museums, and galleries over the years. Originally resembling a primordial swamp with overgrown trees, and continuous bramble bushes closing off traffic through the site - the only way to reach the back of the site was to access it via neighboring properties- bramble and tree removal took about 2 years and is ongoing, followed by stone trail building to allow for debris removal and sculpture installation. The above "Moth Man" work is contrasted with the back neighboring property presenting how Scansen173 looked prior to clearing.
